The 70th International Astronautical Congress 2019 was helded in Washington from 21 to 25 October. Our team members presented 2 reports, one: “Rotary solar sail for nanosatellite constellation formation”, the second: “Device for passive CubeSats deorbiting”. The presentations were prepared by Valeriia Melnikova and Anatoly Shapovalov.
The Congress included plenary sessions (including meatings with heads of space agencies, astronauts and pelples of the world’s leading space enterprises), an exhibition and technical sessions with presentations. The exhibition featured stands of various countries: Australia, UAE, Singapore, France, as well as Japanese – JAXA, German – DLR, American – NASA space agencies, many universities, enterprises (Blue Origin, Lockheed Martin, Jacobs, etc.). There were Glavkosmos and Skolkovo Space technologies cluster from Russia. In addition to large vehicles (this year it was fashionable to present lunar landing stations), whole projects and individual modules of CubeSat nanosatellites from various manufacturers from around the world were widely presented. Special attention was paid to propulsion systems and service systems of nanosatellites.
